Safety Guidelines for Real-World Interactions

At Linkar, we are committed to creating a platform that encourages positive, meaningful and safe connections. While we aim to foster real-world engagement, all users are responsible for prioritising their own safety when meeting others or attending events. Please follow the guidance below to protect yourself and others when using the platform.

Before Attending an Event or Meeting Someone

Verify the Details

Ensure the event is legitimate and the venue is appropriate and safe. Public locations are recommended for first-time interactions.

Check Reviews or Previous Activity

Where possible, view any available history or credibility indicators related to the event or the host.

Share Your Plans

Let a friend or family member know where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to return.

Arrive Independently

Always use your own transportation and avoid accepting lifts from people you have not met before.

Charge Your Phone

Ensure your device is fully charged and keep it on you at all times.

During the Event or Meeting

Trust Your Instincts

If anything feels off or uncomfortable, you are under no obligation to stay. Politely excuse yourself and leave the situation.

Stay in Public Areas

For first-time meetups, remain in well-lit, populated venues such as cafes, libraries, studios, or public events.

Avoid Sharing Personal Information

Do not disclose your home address, financial details, or sensitive personal data to anyone you have just met.

Respect Others

Maintain respectful conduct at all times. Aggressive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in permanent removal from the platform.

If You Experience or Witness Harm or Misconduct

Remove Yourself Immediately

Your safety comes first. Leave the situation and move to a safe space if you feel threatened or uncomfortable.

Contact Emergency Services

If you are in immediate danger or witness illegal activity, call 999 (UK) or the appropriate emergency number in your country.

Report the Incident to Linkar

Use the report feature on the listing or contact our support team at info@linkar.co.uk to alert us. We take all reports seriously and will review them promptly.

Preserve Evidence

Where possible, take note of names, times, locations, screenshots, or any messages that may support your report.

Zero Tolerance for Misuse

Linkar has a strict policy against harassment, abuse, exploitation, and any form of misconduct. Users found to be violating these guidelines may be subject to immediate suspension or permanent removal from the platform. Where appropriate, we may also escalate cases to the relevant authorities.

Our Role and Limitations

While we provide tools to connect people, Linkar does not verify the identity or intentions of users beyond the information they submit. We do not supervise interactions or events and cannot guarantee the conduct of any participant. We strongly encourage all users to apply sound judgment and take necessary precautions when engaging with others through the platform.

If you ever feel unsafe, unsure, or need support, please reach out to us directly. We are here to help and will treat all concerns with discretion and urgency.
